    Financial Needs

God is good and He always provides for our needs. We do have an increased financial need at this time for the following reasons:

    1. The value of the dollar continues to weaken and there is a high level of inflation here.
    2. We have increased ministry costs as our ministry progresses.
    3. We are sad that one of our supporting churches was forced to close its doors after many years of worshiping God.

We estimate an additional need of $500/month. Please pray for God's continued provision.

    Please send contributions to:

    Budget Concerns

This week we received an email from the BGC informing us that our account has been in deficit for a while now. "
My figures show that the contributions to your account are short about $882 per month. Whatever the shortage is, will need to be raised before you return back to Cambodia." The good news is that the BGC has been buffering the shortfall while we are on the field so that we don't need to worry about such things. We will be addressing this during our home assignment.

    New Year Praises!

    1.  A very humble thanks to all of you who contributed to our computer fund, which for the time being, is full.

    2.  Praise God for Khmer worship CD--650 of 1000 made have been sold!!!  CD is played often at local coffee shop and and bookstore.  Some songs are regularly played on the Christian radio stations. Our local church has choreographed three worship dances to songs on it as well.  Thank you for your giving generously to make this blessing possible. It is quickly spreading throughout Cambodia. The wheels are spinning about making a second one.

    3.  Praise God for $500 needed to provide for a new moto contraption to
bring 15-20 kids to church!  The church is currently in the process of using this
money as a loan for this family.  This will be used by one of the church leaders who will provide a way for the kids from the "Kids Club" to attend church regularly because they live too far away to come on their own. We'll include a photo after they purchase it!

    4.  Praise God for the $ to bring about 35 kids from another "Kids Club" to church on a regular basis.  These kids ride in the back of a big white truck with a cage on the back. There is a photo in the Children's Ministry Album. The cost for the next fiscal year is $780 (May 2006-April 2007). Gifts should be given to our Aid to Cambodian Churches Fund, Account number 620801.

    5.  Srey Bic, the little girl with AIDS, has improved dramatically and has
been attending church regularly for the last few months!  She's on medicine
to extend her life. See a picture of her playing a sheep in the Christmas drama in the Children's Ministry Album. (Also, in a recent post)

    6.  Praise God for the privilege of serving God among the Cambodian people, helping
them grow in their faith.  Altogether, over 100 adults, youth and
children, accepted Jesus as their Savior at our Christmas Extravaganza! See pictures in the Children's Ministry Album and in a recent post.

    7.  Our first-ever Khmer-led children's camp will be January 14-17!  It will be at the beach about 3 1/2 hours from Phnom Penh. Thanks to the generosity of a large gift from an Australian church connected with our church.  Mai and Sonya will be going.

    8.  Sonya turned 11 years old in December!!!

    9.  The literacy program is exceeding all our expectations. There are over 60 students learning to read and write the in their own language using Bible based materials. The same kids praise and worship the Lord five days per week. Nearly all attend church on Sunday. What a tremendous grounding in life for them since most come from non-believing homes. Their families, though they don't believe, are very thankful for the program and feel better about the presence of a church in their community. The older kids now have more confidence as they can now read comfortably.Thank you, Harvest Irvine Church for replacing Sina's stolen moto!!!

    10.  Dennis Nordine and Bethlemhem Star of Peace Mission group from the Philippines came for a 2nd visit in December and have determined that Cambodia would be a suitable field to send Filipino servants to join the tremendous work here. They hope to send a team in the second half of 2007.

    Project Needs Update

Praise God for faithfully meeting our ministry needs.

The CD Fund is completed, until next time. The sales from this CD should provide seed money for the next project. Whenever, that may be.

The Aid to Churches Fund allows us to help provide transportation to church on Sunday for dozens of children who live too far away to walk and may not own a bicycle. It also allows us to provide relief aid to church members and purchase Bibles, which are often needed. Our immediate needs have been generously met, but we'd like to have a few hundred dollars available for urgent needs.

The Computer Fund is slowly filling up. Computers are necessary for us to do our work.

After four years on the field our overall support level remains quite strong. PTL! However, we've experienced some natural fall-off in our support. A couple of churches were in the unfortunate position of not being able to keep us on their support team, one even closed , and a couple of others have had to cut back. This combined with some expected and typical increases in costs related to ministry, housing and education have resulted in our support being a bit on the soft side. We are confident that God will firm up our support level and give us peace as we continue to serve him here in Cambodia.

    Current Project Needs

Praise God for His recent provision to our Computer Fund and Aid to Chuches Fund. The Aid to Churches Fund allows us to help provide transportation to church on Sunday for dozens of children who live too far away to walk and may not own a bicycle. It also allows us to provide relief aid to church members and purchase Bibles, which are often needed.

As the CD project gets closer to completion, our need for money to finish the project gets more acute. The remaining financial need primarily covers the expense of making the CD's, license fees and some basic marketing. The current release date is set for Dec. 1, 2006. We hope to have the CD available for Christian organizations and churches to buy them as gifts for their staff.
